Things happen when we least expect

No one wants to have an accident, but be prepared in case you are in one. Read our lists of suggestions on how to prepare for and handle being in an accident.

If you are in an accident, don't hesitate to call Bilal Towing. Our experts will attend the scene of the accident and tow your car to the place of your choosing.

Always be prepared

  • Keep a vehicle safety kit in your car.
  • Keep your cell phone charged.
  • Keep important information like ID cards, vehicle registration, health insurance cards and emergency contacts in your glove box.
  • Ensure you have a dash camera installed. Even though you may not be at fault there is a chance things could not work out in your favour and having video recording proof could be the very thing that saves you from an at-fault claim.

What to do if you have been involved in a collision

  • Check to see if anyone is hurt. If there is an injury then dial 911 for emergency assistance.
  • If your vehicle is drivable, make sure you move it to a safe nearby location, but don't leave the scene.
  • Contact the police to report the accident. If there are no injuries you can call the Police Non-Emergency line at 416-808-2222.
  • Notify your insurance company of the accident within 24 hours.
  • If your vehicle isn't drivable, request towing service. Call Bilal Towing at 647-267-1632

Exchange important information

  • Names, phone numbers, addresses and e-mail addresses of all drivers, occupants and witnesses.
  • Location of the accident.
  • Take photos of the accident scene and all vehicles involved.
  • If the police responds to the accident, get the police report number, phone number, officer name and badge number.
  • Don't reveal your insurance policy limits or admit fault.
